Fundraising

After 60 years the Ilse of Wight Council withdrew funding from Brading Youth Club in 2017.

The Brading Community Partnership took over the management of the Youth Club and the building, and we are now dependent on contributions from grants and contributions

We are developing as a Youth and Community Centre. However, the annual costs are £30,000 per year. We are given grants and donations to help us to meet this expenditure from the Brading Town Council and others.  However more is needed..  Recent developments, the refurbished kitchen and the new windows have had to be met through substantial grants.

Future Projects

We have toilets that are badly in need of upgrading and made to be disability friendly. Also the central heating system is relatively inefficient and expensive. A modern gas fired system would enable us to make the Centre more customer friendly. T\here are problems with the roof as well. There are other maintenance, structural and decorative needs to be met too over the near future to enable further development of community activities in the building, such as facilities for a Men in Sheds group.
