In taking over responsibility for the running of Brading Youth club Brading Community Partnership (BCP) negotiated with the IoW council a long-term lease for the Youth and Community Centre. This building has the potential to provide a venue not only for the Youth Club but also for many other activities that are of interest to the broader community.
The Partnership is continuing with a programme of work that will make the BYCC a more attractive, and practical location for people to get together for whatever reason. In 2019 our kitchen was re-fitted and windows replaced and it is planned to decorate the building both externally and internally.
With the Youth Club only using the building in the weekday evenings it is available for use by BCP members in the weekdays and at weekends, subject of course to agreement with the BCP Booking Secretary. The accommodation available includes a cafe, a meeting room and a sports hall and to date has played host to –

Men in Sheds The Crochet Club
Youth Club for Grown-ups Zumba Gold Class
Several of these clubs and classes have chosen to coincide the activities with the café opening times on Monday and Fridays and as demand rises it is expected that the cafe opening times will be extended.
The Partnership is run and supported by volunteers and new volunteers are always welcome. Volunteers can apply for membership if they so choose otherwise BCP membership is available for an annual fee of £5.00. Members wishing to use the facilities in the BYCC are invited to make a donation towards the running of the Partnership and the upkeep of the BYCC.
